Component-resolved Near-infrared Spectra of the (22) Kalliope System

چکیده
We observed (22) Kalliope and its companion Linus with the integral-field spectrograph OSIRIS, which is coupled to the adaptive optics system at the W.M. Keck 2 telescope on March 25 2008. We present, for the first time, component-resolved spectra acquired simultaneously in each of the Zbb (1-1.18μm), Jbb (1.18-1.42μm), Hbb (1.47-1.80μm), and Kbb (1.97-2.38μm) bands. The spectra of the two bodies are remarkably similar and imply that both bodies were formed at the same time from the same material; such as via incomplete re-accretion after a major impact on the precursor body.

Nondestructive Firmness Estimation of Tomato Fruit Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy
Today, nondestructive methods are widely used to determine the quality of agricultural products. Meanwhile, visible and near-infrared (Vis/NIR) spectroscopy is regarded as one of the most widely used methods in the field of quality assessment of agricultural products. In this study, a system was developed to measure the Vis/NIR spectra of tomato fruit samples in the half-transmittance mode of m...
متن کاملModeling Time Resolved Light Propagation Inside a Realistic Human Head Model
Background: Near infrared spectroscopy imaging is one of the new techniques used for investigating structural and functionality of different body tissues. This is done by injecting light into the medium and measuring the photon intensity at the surface of the tissue.Method: In this paper the different medical applications, various imaging and simulation techniques of NIRS imaging is described. ...
متن کاملKinetic modeling of dissolution and crystallization of slurries with attenuated total reflectance UV-visible absorbance and near-infrared reflectance measurements.
Slurries are often used in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes but present challenging online measurement and monitoring problems. In this paper, a novel multivariate kinetic modeling application is described that provides calibration-free estimates of time-resolved profiles of the solid and dissolved fractions of a substance in a model slurry system. The kinetic model of this s...
متن کاملInvestigation of the structure of water at hydrophobic and hydrophilic interfaces by angle-resolved TIR Raman spectroscopy.
To analyse the surface- or interface-specific molecular structure of a condensed molecular system, it is important to measure the spectra of molecules near the surface. Total internal reflection (TIR) Raman spectroscopy is a sensitive technique for surface or interfacial analysis because it retrieves spectra in the region within ca. 100 nm of a surface. However, since the width of the interface...

We obtained new near-infrared images of the prototypical pre-main sequence triple system T Tau, as well as the first resolved medium-resolution spectra of the close pair T Tau S. At the time of our observations, the tight binary had a 13 AU projected separation and showed significant motion since its discovery, three years before. The orbit cannot be strongly constrained yet, but the observed m...
